Proverbial Giggles: Wisdom and Reality

For all their eternal wisdom, most proverbs do not reflect reality. But often a few minor changes can make them fit the times. Here are a few examples.

Two wrongs don't make a right, but the second one sure makes the first one feel better.

Two's company, three's illegal in a lot of places.

Hope for the best, but prepare for the mediocre.

There's no such thing as a free lunch unless you can run very fast.

There's no place like the homey pub down the street.

Home is where the heart is. "Heart" is a combination of internet speed, cable TV offerings, and who's cooking dinner.

People who live in glass houses should dress in the dark.*
