Proverbial Giggles: Same Saying, New Lesson

Stickers, cups, etc., available at redbubble.

Since the dawn of history, humans have been obsessed with the thought of ripping their pants open when they bend down, thus exposing the enormity of their backside and giving their neighbors cause to laugh.

A stitch in time saves nine. But as ye sew, so shall ye rip.

Therefore:

A stitch in time saves embarrassment.

Available: stickers, cups, and more at Redbubble.

A variation on a theme—this is said to be a Chinese proverb:

The early worm gets caught by the early bird.

Then the things no one stops to think about:

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth—their breath is terrible.

Sometimes you need to define your wisdom. For instance, life is short. There are only so many hours in a day and far fewer happy hours, so we can't waste the ones we have.

There's no time like the present. (It's Happy Hour.)

Available on stickers, magnets, cups, and more. Redbubble.

Then the things no one stops to think about:

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth—their breath is terrible.

And one final though, this one about transportation. Why walk, when all the fuss is over a horse, anyway?

You can lead a horse to water, but why not ride it there?

Some of these proverbs are available on redbubble.com, on bumper stickers, magnets, coffee mugs, car mugs, water bottles, notebooks, pillows, and tattoos. (Only kidding on that last one.)
