Wine, Crowds, and Free Comic Books in Livermore

Free Comic Book Day in Livermore this Saturday may not have drawn hordes of people dressed as Wonder Woman or featured a high-speed police chase, but it coincided with a wine festival that drew a guaranteed crowd.

Free Comic Book Day was started in 2002 as a way to bring people into local comic book stores, which, like Livermore's Fantasy Books & Games, provide an experience that cannot be equaled online. Picture all types of comic books, old and new, action figures, trading cards, T-shirts.

Fantasy Books & Games.
Fantasy Books & Games enjoys a prime downtown location in the historic Masonic Hall (built in 1909), and that was prime real estate for this year's Livermore Wine Festival.

The annual event features arts and craft stands, several stages with ongoing music, as well as food trucks, and of course wine and beer tasting.

This is a great event, especially for the music. It's also the place to go to check out interesting crafts stands, many of which play on visitors' spring fever, with an array of decorations for the home and garden.
